He was one of the most sincerly kind persons I ever met. He was always thinking of others. On cold mornings before the flight he would have hot chocolate waiting for us. He was very kind and will be missed

My own father is a pilot of small planes. I have seen many broadcasts of fallen planes- always wondering if it is my dad. I often think about those who have been in acidents and the families and friends they have left behind. Right now, I feel deep sorrow for you. I feel love for you and my family is thinking and praying for you.

I cant imagine the anguish and sorrow you are going thru. Remember that the pilot was very skilled and did everyting in his power to land safely. My prayers are with the all of the families!

I am just heart broken over this whole tragedy. I worked with David and he was so thoughtful. We often arrived at work at the same time and he would always hold the door open for me, even if he had to wait for me to walk across the parking lot! It is a rare person who takes time out of their busy life to do something kind for others.

Dear White Family,

My heart is broken for your loss. I'm a pilot for the USAF and this passed year I have lost two dear friends with whom I flew the F-15 Eagle. Lansing Ellsworth is my cousin, and while I grieve for him and his family, I'm confident that, like my Eagle buddies, David did everything in his power to overcome the catastrophic circumstances in which they found themselves. Sometimes in spite of all the training we've received and all the preventive aircraft maintenance performed, Heavenly Father has another plan. May the Lord's Grace and Spirit sustain you and me while we seek to understand his will, that we might know Him better.
I pray,

Jonathan Shill, Capt, USAF

White Family,

Dave was an inspiration to many of us as pilots. Knowing Dave leaves no doubt in my mind that he did all that he could to change the course of this tragic event. He was a unique individual that cared for everone around him. I recall and can't help but smile about his obsession with tech toys, seems every few days he had something new. He is with his Father in Heaven now and will watch over us all. A great Father, Husband, Pilot, and friend. Our prayers go out to you all. May God bless you in this time of grief.

I am so sorry for your loss. I knew Dave White and flew with him personally. He was an extremely knowledgeable and safe pilot and I know he must have done everything he could to bring everyone home safely. He was such a great example of perserverance and diligence in pursuing his goals and dreams one of which was commercial flying. You are all in my prayers

Dear Families,
I was deeply saddened by your losses. As I sit by the computer reading about the accident, my 10 year old son, David said "We know how that feels". We, too, lost someone in an automobile accident in October of last year. My heart goes out to you and you are all in our prayers. I did not directly know any of your loved ones, but I know the niece and cousin of two of them. I can promise you that several things will happen. You will feel the Love and Comfort of Our Heavenly Father and Savior during this time period. They will not forsake you. Please cling to that fact and know that They and your loved ones are near. Families ARE forever and you will see them again and they are waiting for you on the other side. Your heart will break at times, but your hearts will also soar. Sweet memories will crowd your mind and you will be comforted. Your community and state are praying for you and this will also strengthen you when the times are tough. Asking why does not help much, but being still does. Know that you all are in many people's prayers and hearts and you are not alone. May Father's richest blessings be poured out upon you during this time and in the future while you carry on.
With love and understanding,

I am so sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you and especially your children. David was a wonderful person who made me feel welcome when I first started working across the hall from him. To the White Family, I met David a year ago through work. He was possibly the most kind person I have ever met. It was a pleasure to work with him, and in our office we dearly loved teasing him about when he could sneak us aboard the company plane for joy ride! Our hearts are heavy with the loss. I will keep David and his family in my prayers and meditations. May you find peace and comfort and go forward with the knowledge of how very much David was liked and respected.

We are all deeply saddened by the loss of such an extraordinary pilot, but more so, an extraordinary human being. Flying with him frequently, David never ceased to amaze us with his homemade breakfast plates he prepared for us prior to leaving on an early morning flight. He had a servant's heart and we are all better for having had the opportunity to have known him. Our hearts go out to Andrea and the children at this time of loss.

Mrs. White I was going to send you a card in the mail, but I think this will work just as well. I am a Leavitt Group employee and flew with Dave many times. I always felt safe with him, always! He always had a smile on his face and was so caring of us when we traveled. He was a gentleman with our luggage and helping out wherever there was a need.

During these many trips that I was on with Dave, we talked family many times. He loved you very much and he glowed when he talked about his kids. I know that he loved flying, he was proud of the many accomplishments in his life, but most of all his love and greatest accomplishment was his family. He expressed that many times. He was a great and gentle man; there will be a huge void without him.

My prayers are with you and your family. I pray that you will find comfort and strength from Our Father in Heaven.

I had the privelage of working with David on IT issues in our office in Campbell, CA. He was ALWAYS cheerful, happy and professional in his demeanor. We had the privelage of actually meeting him in person during his trips to our office- which was a real treat- being that we usually would work with home over the phone. He was ALWAYS such a pleasure to work with. I know he is now flying with the angels- and will continue to watch over his loved ones. God bless you- I thank you for sharing David with us and pray for your peace and healing.

I work at a Leavitt agency in California where David visited occassional doing his so valuable IT work. I have only meet him a few times but he always stopped by my office to say hello with a smile. Just last week David was in our office and I happend to overhear him talking on the phone to one of his children and I thought at that time what a patient, caring and loving Dad he was. David's friendly presence will truly be missed around our office. I pray that God will comfort your family during this time of sorrow.

Dear Andrea,

I am so sorry for your great loss. I worked with David and flew with him several times. He always made me feel at ease due to his gentle and service oriented nature. I could also tell he was a very capable and knowledgeable pilot and loved what he did. I wasn't worried when we flew together. I too am certain that he did everything he could do. He is greatly missed and will continue to be missed by so many.

Upon finding out about the accident early Saturday morning, I dropped to my knees immediately and begin to pray for you and your children. I continue and will continue to keep you in my prayers in asking the Lord to help sustain you through a very difficult time in your life. Your family will be united again, this is not the end, just a temporary, though difficult separation.

Andrea, Alex, Anna, Christopher, & Riley:

Our hearts go out to you and we are here for you. Dave was an exceptional pilot. He is one of the few people in this world that I trust my life and my family's life with. We all loved to fly with him and he was "The Favorite Pilot."

Dave was the best pilot not just in skill but in attitude, work ethic, etc. The ice cream treats, fruit and quiche were small examples of how he went above and beyond. He is one of the only pilots who helped with our luggage and is one of the only guys if not the only guy who would endure shopping with us.

Dave had the unique ability to tune the world out and you in so you felt like the most important person in the world. When Annika co-piloted with him he made her feel like she was queen of the air.

Find peace in knowing two things: 1. That he passed doing what he loved to do & 2. That through Heavenly Father's Plan you will be with him again.

We love you guys!

White Family,

I am so sorry for your loss. I've known Dave for many years. We worked together in the 940th Avionics shop. He was a great Airman and friend. I have so many fond memories of my time with Dave. The smile he always had on his face was infectious. One time when he was getting checked out in a plane for the Beale Aero Club he let me tag along with him. I almost threw up twice, but I had a blast. He was a true mentor for everybody in the Avionics shop. I never felt embarrassed if I didn't know something and had to ask Dave for guidance. Of course he knew the answer, but he had a way of making you feel even the simplest things were great questions and was happy to pass down the knowledge. He was a shining example of how to lead and I strive in my Air Force career to carry on what I've learned from him. Our sons hung out together as little toddlers at the Weavers. Recently he gave my wife valuable insight into the corporate aviation world and inspired her to not give up her dream of civilian flying. Dave was a true hero and will surely be missed.

When I think of Dave the following come to mind: Mentor, example, professional, but most of all FRIEND. I worked with Dave at the flight school and he was always the happy go lucky one of the bunch. We all turned to Dave with questions. On the golf course Dave was the same person as he was in the office. Laid back and just happy to be in the moment. He always made everyone around feel welcome. When it comes my time to depart I hope people will remember me like I will Dave. Enjoy the ride Dave and I will be looking for ya on the other side. But until then I will look skyward and reflect on the good times we shared.

Words cannot portray the heartache and sadness my wife and I feel for you at this time. We cannot even begin to comprehend how you and your kids are feeling. I love Dave like he is my own brother. I have probably flown with him more than anybody and it was nothing short of a joy being with him. I am grateful to you for sharing him with us. I have, and still would, trust him with my life.

I'm sure you have heard this many times, but he is honestly the kindest person I have ever met. From his breakfasts in the mornings to his piloting us to work destinations to his IT work to the softball diamond, he always had a smile on his face. Never once did I see him get frustrated. He is truly a great person. When he told me you were looking for a house by where we live, I was so excited.

I hope you know how much he is loved. Our prayers and thoughts have been with you since we found out. I know that you will see him again, and that your family will be together again.

I am still in shock...

My name is also David White...I help with the Leavitt Group's 401k plan.

The first time I was to meet David I was looking forward to it...for some reason I always enjoy meeting a fellow David White!

David met and exceded every expectation I had...he was so friendly, warm, and fun to be with. He always went out of his way to make everyone feel at home and apart of the "family" for the trip. His companionship put a smile on everyone's faces...it is not that many people in this world that have this natural warmth and ability...I miss him...so I cannot imagine your great loss and pain.

One quick story: I was returning home to SLC on a commercial flight after I had met David via LG Wings. Walking through the Skywest hub in SLC, I saw him in in his Skywest uniform! I had no idea that he had left. After we said hi to each other, he was quick to say he couldn't wait to get back to LG Wings...he missed everyone and the job so much...as I know everyone missed him. He made such a positive difference in so many lives.

My condelences to you and your children. If there is anything I can do to help, please let me know.

May his memory be eternal.

Warmly,

David White

I am greatful to have known Dave. He was an Awesome individual who I respected tremendously. I did not get to know him very well, but the times I did get to be with him he was very kind and showed that he cared. Two times I can think of that I had a time to talk with him, once when we were flying back from Salt Lake, last October, and as recent as early last week while I was on my lunch break at Wal Mart, as I was on my way out the door he was coming in. He always went out of his way to ask how me and my wife are doing, and I am greatful to him for that. To Dave's family, God Bless You in this sad time, remember that he will always be with you in your heart. Keep being kind and friendly like him and you will definently only be apart for a short time. God also loves you.
Thanks for letting Dave be a part of so many peoples lives, he sure has touched mine.

To the White Family,

I was heartbroken to hear about your loss. I was privleged to meet David through my work with the Leavitt Group.

He was one of those very rare and special people who have the ability to make a stranger feel as if they had been his best friend all of their lives.

He always spoke lovingly about his family and how blessed he had been to have found someone who would stick with him and follow him as he pursued his dreams and his love of flying.

He was a man whose heart was filled with love, appreciation, and gratitude for everyone and everything that he encountered...and I remember thinking that the world would be a much, much better place if there were more people just like him.

David will be missed by everyone who knew him...and, in the end, I think that is probably the most important legacy that anyone can have.

I'm very sorry that this tragedy happened, and my family and I pray that God will heal and protect your family and the families of the other passengers.

I met David not too long ago when he was at our office in Phoenix, AZ. It was late in the day and he was fixing the computer at the desk next to mine. The office was quiet and I couldn't help but overhear his phone conversation with Christopher and Riley. I remember smiling to myself to hear such love in a father's voice. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Let love sustain you through this hard time.

Dear White Family:
I have just read all of the comments and I am sure you realize what an impact David had on so many people. I work with the Farmer-Leavitt office in Phoenix and met David when he flew Dane down here and we went to a baseball game. David just exuded friendliness to those of us he met with. I could not help but notice that he spent his life in a job where he went to many places and met many people- exposing them to his obvious goodness. I also believe that God often takes the nicest and best people early as their reward for living such a good life.
Our thoughts in Phoenix are with you.
